Covid inquiry: Former top civil servant describes ‘macho culture’ inside No 10

Former top civil servant, Helen MacNamara, has described at the Covid inquiry how then PM Boris Johnson was dismissive of warnings early on in the pandemic.

Ms MacNamara said that “sitting there, saying it was great” was part of “macho posturing”, but “injecting a note of caution” would have been hard for her to do.
