UN chief: Gaza the ‘worst humanitarian crisis’ he’s seen | Israel-Hamas

A UN chief has told Sky News that what is going on in Gaza is the “worst humanitarian crisis he has ever seen in his entire career”.

Martin Griffiths, the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, said the fact Gazans “cannot escape” the horror of the Israeli military operation meant it was the worst humanitarian disaster in his 50-year career.

Speaking to Yalda Hakim, Mr Griffiths said he had witnessed the genocide in Cambodia and the civil war in Syria, but it was the lack of agency for individual Palestinians that made this crisis worse.
