US homeless crisis escalates as rent prices rise

In the United States, and in California, there is increasing alarm over the number of over-fifties who find themselves living on the streets.
They make up most of the more than half a million people there who are homeless.
Many have been forced from their homes because they are unable to pay large increases in their rent.
