It began as a military operation. Now, though, it’s a massive onslaught on the well-being, indeed the lives, of countless innocent civilians.

Residential areas have been razed to the ground. Many people killed in their own homes. Families, divided. Hundreds of thousands of mostly women and children forced to leave the country. How many will never return? It’s impossible to say. And the worst could still be yet to come.
