Should crossbow ownership laws be strengthened?

A woman whose partner was murdered by a man armed with a crossbow has called on the government to toughen up the rules around ownership.

Shane Gilmer was killed by a neighbour in Yorkshire in 2018. Laura Sugden, who was pregnant with their child at the time, was injured in the attack.

She told Sky News it was “scary” to think anyone aged over 18 can own a crossbow and is campaigning for the law to be changed.
