‘Waspi women’ group wins pension equality Ombudsman case

The government has been told to “do the right thing” and pay compensation to women born in the 1950s and hit by the change in the state pension age.

The ombudsman says millions of women affected should each receive a payout of at least a thousand pounds – but campaigners want ten times that amount.
