Israel denies Gaza is at risk of famine as IDF investigates deadly strike on aid convoy

An Israeli government spokesman has denied UN reports that Gaza is on the brink of famine.

Avi Hyman told Sky News the claim was based on “out of date data”.

The US State Department joined the UN last week in warning that famine was likely present in Gaza and called on Israel to allow more aid through to starving families.

Meanwhile, Israel says an investigation has begun into why an aid convoy was targeted by the IDF, killing seven people working for the World Central Kitchen.
