The UK economy is no longer in recession, according to official figures.
Gross domestic product grew by a better-than-expected 0.6% between January and March – the strongest growth since the Covid lockdown.
Rishi Sunak told Sky News wages are rising, taxes are falling and people will feel “we’re starting to turn a corner”.
But will it be enough to salvage the prime minister’s general election chances?
