Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s Social Democrats are expected to see a sharp drop compared to national elections three years ago. The opposition Conservatives are projected to place first. And the far-right Alternative for Germany is vying to become the second strongest party. Germany accounts for 96 of the 720 European Parliament seats.
