Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their jobs and face poverty in the occupied West Bank. Israel revoked Palestinian work permits in the wake of last year’s October 7 terror attacks by Hamas – even though that militant group is based in Gaza, not the West Bank. The loss of jobs in Israel has cascaded through the economy with dramatic effect.
