Sierra Leone: How Freetown’s mayor has transformed her city | DW News

Sierra Leone’s capital has an ambitious project. #FreetownTheTreeTown, has planted almost a million trees, increasing the city’s vegetation cover by some 50 percent. That’s the brainchild of the capital’s mayor, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, working together with the people of the city. For their inspirational achievements, the Mayor has been in Berlin to recieve the German Africa Prize.
