Germany’s budget crisis over as coalition leaders agree on 2024 budget | DW News

Germany’s government has been paralyzed for weeks after a constitutional court decision blew a 17-billion-euro hole in the budget. It ruled that emergency loans to combat the pandemic could not be re-allocated to a fund to finance the switch to green energy. The government had done so to try to avoid its “debt brake” that limits borrowing. The crisis had held up military and financial aid to Ukraine.
