This week, tens of thousands of people in Argentina took to the streets to protest against President Javier Milei’s plans to impose sweeping austerity measures. The demonstrations took place just seven weeks after Milei took office – having promised to impose reforms which he describes as a “shock therapy” for the country’s inflation-riddled economy.
