Childbirth trauma: ‘I came out disabled and without a job’

Mother Gill Castle, who was left with lifelong injuries after childbirth. Gill told Sky News that she was a working police officer that came out ‘disabled and without a job’.

Sky’s correspondent Shamaan Freeman-Powell reports on the first parliamentary inquiry into trauma suffered by mothers during childbirth.

Stafford MP Theo Clarke shared her own birthing story with parliament and now leads the first cross-party inquiry into birthing trauma. She says she hopes the inquiry will come with ‘practical recommendations to the prime minister’.
