Conservative David Davis defends PM over D-Day backlash | Election 2024

The former Brexit Secretary was responding to questions about Rishi Sunak’s early departure from the D-Day commemorations.

When asked if he thought the prime minister “let the country down” Mr Davis said: “No I don’t. I can understand people being raw and sore… but I’m afraid it was an error that he shouldn’t have made, and that’s that. But he apologised very, very quickly.”
