‘Dangerous’ alligator snapping turtle found in Cumbria lake

A turtle with jaws strong enough to bite off human fingers has been found in Cumbria.

Alligator snapping turtles are normally found in the steamy swamps of Florida.

But this one was discovered beside Urswick Tarn and was “looking a bit sorry for itself”.
