Director James Toback ordered to pay $1.68 billion to 40 women in landmark sexual abuse case

Oscar-nominated writer and director James Toback has been ordered to pay €1.5 billion to victims of sexual abuse and misconduct spanning more than three decades. The case, brought under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, is one of the largest civil verdicts in state history.
