Dubai: Heaviest rain ever recorded in United Arab Emirates causes chaos

A major clean-up operation is underway in Dubai after heavy rains hit the UAE, flooding sections of major motorways and leaving vehicles abandoned right across the region.

The storms forced Dubai International Airport to close temporarily. Some carriers suspended or diverted flights due to the bad weather.
