EU’s Borrell proposes to send Russian frozen asset revenues to Ukraine arms fund | DW News

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has urged EU leaders to support his proposal to use revenues from Russia’s frozen assets to buy arms for Ukraine. Speaking after meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Borrell said the plan could generate around 3-Bbillion euros a year. Shmyhal welcomed the proposal, but called it only a first step, saying that Europe needed to make Russia pay a ‘heavy price.’
