In India, a key opposition figure has appeared in court to fight his arrest over alleged corruption, just weeks before the national elections. Arvind Kejriwal is Delhi’s chief minister and part of a political alliance formed to challenge Prime Minister Modi. India’s opposition alliance has called the arrest a politically motivated move ahead of elections. Kejriwal’s supporters have turned out in protest.
