A year after French police shot dead a teenager of African descent at a traffic stop in western Paris, his mother is due to hold a silent march in her son’s memory.
The shooting prompted nationwide protests and concerns about the rights of immigrants.
The anniversary comes on the eve of parliamentary elections, which could usher in a far-right, anti-immigrant government.
Al Jazeera’s Bernard Smith reports from Nanterre.
