How Haiti spiralled into violent mayhem

Intense fighting and gang violence continues to create chaos in Haiti. The Caribbean nation is being ruled by a federation of criminal groups as politicians and other nations try to forge a transitional government.

Thousands have been killed and hundreds of thousands displaced, the United Nations estimates, with widespread reports of rape, torture and ransom kidnappings.

Sky’s chief correspondent Stuart Ramsay has seen this mayhem up close. He explains how political chaos, social unrest and natural disasters have led the country to breaking point.
