Around 60 trucks carrying relief supplies have arrived in the north of the Gaza Strip, where Israel’s military has focused its actions against the Islamist militant group Hamas. It’s the largest delivery there since the war began.
And Israel has released the second of four groups of Palestinian prisoners under its agreement with Hamas. The detainees were handed to the International Committee of the Red Cross at the Ofer Jail amid heavy Israeli police presence.
DW spoke with Palestinian journalist Hazem Balousha about what the release of Palestinian prisoners means for Hamas’ standing among Palestinians, and how popular Hamas is in the Palestinian Territories.
