India election: Narendra Modi seeks to secure historic third term in world’s largest election

Narendra Modi is expected to win India’s elections, which would secure him a historic third term as prime minister.

Votes have been cast over the last six weeks – with more than 642 million ballots now being counted.

A total of 272 seats are needed for a majority in the country’s lower house of parliament.
