The latest UK inflation figures are a move in the “right direction” but the UK is “not out of the woods”, the shadow chief secretary to the Treasury Darren Jones has told Sky News.
Inflation dropped to 2.3% in April down from 3.2%, according to data from the Office of National Statistics.
It marks the lowest level since July 2021 but remains above the Bank of England’s target rate of 2%.
Mr Jones also spoke to Kay Burley about the crisis in the Middle East and compensation for victims of the blood scandal.
