Inflation has been shooting up in several African countries – people are finding their incomes are not keeping up with the rising cost of living. This has led to some public protests, most recently in Nigeria where inflation hit a 30-year high in January.
But the African Development Bank says the continent’s economies are growing and will continue an upward trend over the next two years in a pattern that will actually outpace the global average. But what does that look like in bread and butter terms? What does life really look like for the average African?
