Iran attacks semi-autonomous Kurdish region in northern Iraq, killing several civilians | DW News

Iraq has summoned the Iranian ambassador in Baghdad in protest, after Tehran launched missile strikes into northern Iraq – killing several civilians. Baghdad called the strikes a blatant violation of its sovereignty – and vowed to lodge a complaint with the UN Security Council. Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said it fired the missiles at what it said was an Israeli spy headquarters in Irbil — the seat of Iraq’s northern semi-autonomous Kurdish region.
