Iran presidential election: Deadline nears for candidate registration

A five-day registration period for presidential hopefuls in Iran is drawing to a close.
The Guardian Council is expected to vet candidates and announce those qualified to run.
Applicants will have two weeks to campaign.
The presidential elections were initially scheduled for 2025.
But they were brought forward when President Ebrahim Raisi was killed in a helicopter crash last month.
