Israel frees 2 hostages, kills dozens of civilians in strikes on Rafah | DW News

Israel says its has rescued two hostages during a raid in Gaza’s southern city of Rafah. The men aged 60 and 70 are reportedly in stable condition, and have been taken to a hospital near Tel Aviv. Israel says the hostages were freed as its forces carried out overnight strikes in Rafah. The Hamas-run health authorities say at least 48 people were killed. Israel launched its military operation in Gaza, after Hamas carried out the October 7 terror attacks.
