The UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) says at least one of its staff members was killed in a strike on a food distribution center in Gaza’s southern city of Rafah.
More than 20 other people were injured, according to Juliette Touma, UNRWA director of communications.
International efforts to get humanitarian aid into Gaza are ramping up. A second ship is preparing to sail from Cyprus with more supplies. The first ship carrying around 200 tonnes left Cyprus yesterday.
Large parts of Gaza have been left devastated since Israel launched its military offensive in response to Hamas’ October 7 terror attacks.
