Israeli military’s deadliest day in Gaza war | DW News

24 Israeli soldiers have been killed in the Gaza Strip — the highest one-day Israeli death toll since the war against Hamas began.

Most of the soldiers were killed in an explosion in central Gaza. According to Israeli military officials, two buildings they had mined for demolition collapsed after Hamas militants fired at a nearby tank.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it one of the most difficult days for his country and he added that Israel “will not stop fighting until absolute victory.”
