Japan launches first whaling ship in 70 years

A new Japanese whaling ship has set sail on its first trip, fuelling the controversy over Tokyo’s continued support for the consumption of whale meat.
Japan is one of only three countries that allow commercial whaling, and the new ocean-going mothership is the first of its kind built in 70 years.
