After more than a decade fighting authorities in the British courts, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is now facing what could be his last chance to stop his extradition to the US.
A crowd of Assange supporters has gathered outside London’s high court calling for him to be released. His lawyers will ask judges there today to grant a new appeal hearing. If that fails, Assange’s backers worry he could be put on a plane to the US straight away, where prosecutors want to put him on trial on spying charges. But Assange’s wife says he would not survive being extradited.
