Labour leader Keir Starmer: Budget was ‘humiliating’ for government

Estimated read time 2 min read

Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer says the budget is a sign that a general election is needed.

He said the overall story was the government giving “with one hand” and taking “much more with the other”.

Sir Keir also said it is “totally insulting” that it’s costing taxpayers £15,000 to cover damages paid to an academic who Science Secretary Michelle Donelan had falsely accused of supporting Hamas.
