Labour: UK security at risk due to asylum backlog

Shadow culture secretary Thangam Debbonaire says Labour would “cancel the Rwanda plan” and use the money to boost security and clear the immigration backlog.

She said the current backlog costs the taxpayer £8m per day, which is “unforgivable” in a cost of living crisis.

First though, Kay Burley asked her about the landmark deal at COP28 to start “transitioning” away from fossil fuels.
