The United Nations Security Council is holding an emergency meeting to address the spiralling conflict in the Middle East. Council members will discuss possible measure to de-escalate the conflict between Israel, Iran and the Iran-backed Hezbollah militia, in a bid to prevent an all-out regional war.
The meeting comes a day after Iran fired a barrage of missiles at Israel, and Israel said it began limited ground incursions into Lebanon targeting Hezbollah. Both Israel and Iran are threatening retaliation.
