A proposed comeback for nuclear power around the world is being discussed at talks in Brussels.
The Nuclear Energy Summit is expected to call for Europe’s nuclear industry to be rebuilt, following years of decline. Nuclear power fell out of favor following Japan’s Fukushima nuclear accident in 2011. But commitments to cut greenhouse emissions, and the need to find alternatives to Russian gas, have led to a rethink in how Europe should produce energy.
