Nationwide protests in Slovakia against PM Robert Fico’s criminal law reforms

Nationwide protests against a plan by the government of populist Prime Minister Robert Fico to amend the Slovakia’s penal code are set to continue in the capital and major cities.

The changes proposed by the three-party coalition government include abolishing the special prosecutors’ office, which handles serious crimes such as organized crime and extremism
