Pope condemns ‘the futile logic of war’ as Ukraine marks Christmas on 25 December for first time

Pope Francis has called for an end to all conflicts around the world, and the Archbishop of Canterbury has used his Christmas Day sermon to highlight antisemitism in the UK, as well as the suffering of children caught up in the war.

Meanwhile, Ukraine celebrated Christmas Day on the 25th of December – a move that marks a shift away from Russia.
