Putin on way to North Korea for first visit in 24 years | DW News

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is on his way to North Korea for his first visit to the country in 24 years.

He stopped off in Russia’s far eastern city of Yakutsk on the way.

Putin has thanked North Korea for its support of his invasion of Ukraine and said that the two countries would cooperate closely to overcome Western sanctions in remarks made ahead of a two-day visit to the country.
