Rebel groups take Myanmar border town: Hundreds of refugees escape to Thailand

Estimated read time 1 min read

Rebel groups in Myanmar say they’ve taken the town of Myawaddy, on the border with Thailand.

This is the latest setback for the military junta, which has lost control of dozens of towns since October.

Al Jazeera’s Tony Cheng reports from the Thai-Myanmar border.
