Tensions continue to run frighteningly high on the border between Ukraine and Russia. US President Joe Biden and Russian leader Vladimir Putin met for a video conference. But little if any progress was made, and the mood between the two sides remains acrimonious.

Russia has an estimated 100 thousand troops massed on the border. Vladimir Putin appears to be saying that he wants far-reaching strategic and security guarantees concerning Ukraine.
