America has warned that Israel is starting to lose global support because of what it has described as “indiscriminate” bombing, raising questions over how long the campaign can continue.

Many parts of Gaza have been bombed to the ground – but Israel says it could take months to achieve its objectives, and no amount of international pressure will stop its military campaign.
