Sir Keir Starmer denies Israel-Hamas war is ‘tearing’ Labour apart

Sir Keir Starmer has defended his decision to not back a ceasefire in Gaza, saying even though he “understands” calls for a ceasefire, he does not believe it is the “correct position” to take.

The Labour leader maintained there was “unity” within the party on key issues such as how to bring about an end to the suffering in Gaza and the need for a Palestinian state as part of a long-term solution.
