Turkish airstrikes kill 41 ISIL militants – military

Turkish warplanes target so-called Islamic State positions in northern Syria.

Military sources claim that 41 ISIL fighters were killed in 10 airstrikes on Thursday.

It comes as Syrian rebels, backed by Turkish forces attempt to re-take al-Bab from the jihadist group. Now into it’s fourth month, Operation Euphrates shield is pushing ISIL away from the Turkish border area.

The battle has been slowed to avoid civilian casualties, Turkey’s defence minister said last week.
