US drops ‘mother of all bombs’ on Afghanistan

The United States has dropped the GBU-43 Massive Ordnance Air Blast – otherwise known as ‘the mother of all bombs’ – onto a cave complex in eastern Afghanistan.

Weighing almost 10,000 kilos and at a cost of some 15 million euros, it is the “largest non-nuclear bomb Washington has ever used in combat”:http://www.euronews.com/2017/04/13/us-drops-the-mother-of-all-bombs-on-isil-in-afghanistan-what-is-it.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer outlined the US’ strategy concerning the operation.
