Victims forced into cryptocurrency fraud freed after DW probe | DW News

Last month, a DW investigation revealed widespread human rights abuses at scam factories on the Myanmar-Thai border.

Thousands of human trafficking victims are trapped in large compounds, where they are forced to scam unsuspecting people in Europe, the US and China. If they refuse, they are tortured or sold to other factories. Now China, Thailand and Myanmar have rescued more than 1,000 people.
