Vietnam tycoon Truong My Lan sentenced to death in $12.5bn fraud case

A billionaire real estate tycoon in Vietnam has been sentenced to death for her role in masterminding the country’s biggest case of financial fraud.

Truong My Lan was found guilty of bribery, violating banking regulations and embezzlement – for siphoning off more than 12 billion dollars from one of Vietnam’s commercial banks.
Thousands of people fell victim to the scam.
