The UN has described the renewed fighting between Hamas militants and Israel as a ‘return to hell on earth’ for the people of Gaza. Hostilities resumed Friday morning after negotiators failed to extend what had become a seven-day cease-fire. Officials from the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry say dozens of Gazans have been killed in the hours since then. Hamas is classified by multiple countries as a terrorist organization.
