Donald Trump’s bid to win back the White House is under threat from a ruling by the state of Colorado’s top court. It’s blocked the former president from the state’s ballot next year due to his role in the attack on the US Capitol in 2021. The court did so under an anti-insurrection clause in the US constitution. It’s the first time the provision has ever been used to prohibit someone from running for the presidency. The US Supreme Court is likely to have the final say over whether the ruling can stand.
